Timothy was born on the 25th of May, 1968. His mother, Vera, says that she was very sick during her pregnancy with him. He was a quiet, but intelligent, child who often preferred to play alone or read comics. He loved superheroes and science fiction. He became an adept writer and a good artist although he pursued neither talent professionally.

Tim met and fell in love with Aricka (Tracy) Denise Brown on Valentine's Day, 1988. They moved to Cathedral City, California after she became pregnant with their son, Lawrence. Tim joined the active-duty Army in December of 1988 and his first tour was in Hanau, Germany from 1989 - 1991. His relationship with Tracy was tumultuous and ended in Colorado Springs, CO, in May, 1992. He met his future wife, Melody Diahann Chambers, that year and they married in September, 1994 after Tim returned from an assignment in Korea. Tim and Melody had two children: Tim Jr. and Sharice Ilyana.
Tim attained the rank of Sergeant in the Army in 1991. In 1997, he attended the Warrant Officer Candidate School and became a Supply Systems Technician. He and Melody separated in Mannheim, Germany in 1999 and were divorced in August, 2001.
